- RE14
- RE17
Repairs this series usually needs
- Fryer not heating to setpoint
- Temperature probe errors
- High limit tripping
- Contactor or element problems
- Filter pump or drain valve trouble on filtered models
The RE series is Frymaster’s 50 lb electric open-vat fryer, sold as the RE14 and RE17. Check the data plate for either number to confirm you have one. The kW rating, the pot layout and whether the fryer filters decide which parts it uses.
When an RE fryer is slow or will not heat, we start with the probe reading and the high limit, then move to the contactor and elements. On filtered versions we also look at the drain valve and the filter pad. Frying oil and heat are hard on wiring, so a loose lead is a common find.
Plenty of RE fryers have years of work left in them. Should yours not be worth the money to repair, we will tell you that before you decide, and nothing starts until you agree to the quote.

Read the data plate on the fryer. RE14 and RE17 are the model numbers for this family, and the plate also shows the kW rating and the electrical supply it was built for. Tell us the number when you call. It helps us bring the right parts.
Do RE fryers need a filter service?
Filtered models have a pad and a drain system that need regular care. The owner's manual lists the routine, and we check the pump and valves when a problem shows up.
Do you repair split-pot RE fryers?
Yes. Full and split pots are both in our regular work, and each side has its own probe and heat checks. Older RE fryers are welcome too.
