- F2 cook temperature low
- F6 electrical compartment too hot
- Airflow blocked at the sides
The ECO and the ECO ST are TurboChef ventless rapid cook ovens. The ECO uses a NEMA L6-20 plug and the ECO ST uses a NEMA 6-30 plug. Models read ECO-9500-801 or 805 for the ECO and ECS-9500-801 or 805 for the ECO ST. The El Bandido versions are the panini ovens in the same family.
The owner troubleshooting table lists the blower message F1, low cook temperature F2 and the electrical compartment message F6. We check the plug and breaker first, because the two plug types are easy to mix up on a shared circuit, then the nozzles, the fan guards and the blower.
These ovens have often run for years in sandwich shops. We repair them and say plainly when the cost is more than the oven is worth.

Look at the plug and the model. The ECO has the NEMA L6-20 plug and the ECO ST has the NEMA 6-30 plug. The model begins with ECO or ECS.
What does El Bandido mean on the label?
It marks the panini version of the oven. The service checks are the same as for the standard model, and we note the name on the label to bring the right parts.
Can I run an ECO on a shared circuit?
Ask an electrician about the plug type and the load, and do not share the circuit with other heavy equipment. A circuit that is overloaded can show up as odd blower or temperature messages.
