Two Generations of Convotherm
Convotherm combi ovens come to us in two generations. The Convotherm 4 line, with easyTouch or easyDial controls, covers table-top sizes 6.10, 6.20, 10.10 and 10.20 and floor-standing sizes 12.20, 20.10 and 20.20. The older OES, OEB, OGS and OGB ovens are still in service in many kitchens, and we repair them too. The letters tell you how the oven works: E or G for electric or gas, then S for a spray system or B for a boiler.
Common Calls and What We Check
A low water message sends us to the water valve, the inlet filter and supply pressure before anything else. An electrical compartment that runs too hot usually means the fan screen or air intake is clogged with lint and grease, common in kitchens where the oven runs all day. On gas models a no-gas message starts with the gas shut-off valve. If you smell gas, everyone goes outside and the gas utility gets the call.
Cleaner and rinse aid messages mean a canister is empty or the dispenser is not drawing. Boiler and steam generator ovens collect scale from hard water, and a water filter message that keeps coming back tells us the treatment cartridge is due. Descaling is part of keeping a boiler oven healthy, and we go over the water hardness setting with you.
Older Ovens
If your oven has a nameplate with the year of manufacture, have it handy when you call. On an older OES or OGB we tell you honestly whether the repair is worth the money. You see the price in writing before work starts, and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

On the older ovens, E is electric and G is gas, and S is a spray steam system while B is a boiler. The Convotherm 4 uses the same idea, so the nameplate tells us which parts your oven needs.
Why does my Convotherm say the electrical compartment is too hot?
Most often the fan screen or air intake is clogged with lint and grease. Switch the oven off and let it cool, then call us. We check the airflow and the cooling fan before the oven goes back to work.
Do you service gas Convotherm ovens?
Yes, including older gas models. A no-gas message starts with the shut-off valve. If you smell gas, get out first and phone the gas utility from outside before you call us.
