Wascomat Washer Error Code 14: Level Adjust
Code 14 means the circuit board's internal level system has not been calibrated by the manufacturer. The manual says to contact the manufacturer or service to calibrate the level system. It is not something an operator can adjust.
Medium: the washer cannot run level-dependent programs until the level system is calibrated.
What does Wascomat error code 14 mean?
The Compass control measures water level with an internal level system on the circuit board. That system has to be calibrated so its readings match the real water height in the drum. If the calibration has not been done, the control shows ERROR 014 / LEVEL ADJUST. The manual puts the cause on the manufacturer's side, meaning the board left the factory without calibration, and the remedy is to contact the manufacturer or service to calibrate the level system. This tends to be seen on a new or replaced board. Without calibration, the control cannot trust its level readings, so it will not run programs that depend on them. The manual lists no operator steps or other causes, so we do not add any. A technician needs the equipment and the procedure to perform the calibration.

Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- ERROR 014 / LEVEL ADJUST appears
- The washer will not start water-dependent programs
- The code appears on a new or recently replaced board
- The washer displays the code at every start
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code 14 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Circuit board's internal level system not calibrated by the manufacturer
- A control board replaced without its level system being calibrated afterward
- Calibration data lost from the board after a memory problem
Safe checks before calling for service
- Switch the machine off and on once to see whether the code remains.
- Note whether a control board was replaced or serviced recently.
- Do not try to run programs repeatedly.
- Write down the model and serial number from the data plate, and call us.
How a technician diagnoses error code 14
- Read the code and confirm it is 014.
- Ask about recent board replacement or service.
- Open the service program and check the level calibration state.
- Calibrate the level system with the manufacturer's procedure.
- Compare the level readings with the actual water level.
- Confirm the washer fills and drains correctly after calibration.
- Calibration uses the manufacturer's procedure and measuring equipment.
- Level readings are verified against real water height in the drum.
- The service program is protected and not meant for operators.
How error code 14 differs from similar codes
Code 14 is about calibration, unlike code 27 LEVEL OFFSET, which compares the level reading with an empty drum at program start.
