What does Wascomat error code 18 mean?
Some Wascomat washers are connected to a superior system, for example a laundry monitoring or payment system that controls whether machines may start. When that system disables the machine's program unit, the Compass control refuses to start and shows ERROR 018 / START NOT ALLOWED. This is a permission decision made outside the washer, so the machine and its parts can be perfectly healthy. The manual's only instruction is to contact the supplier of the monitoring system, because they hold the settings that allow or block a start. The reasons for a block belong to that system, such as a machine set out of service, a payment condition not met or a configuration change. A technician from us would not guess at those settings and would not open the washer for this code.
