What does Wascomat error code 23 mean?
The Compass program unit keeps a list of I/O boards, each with an address. The boards drive the washer's valves, lock and other outputs. When the program unit finds that no board is addressed anywhere in the system, it shows ERROR 023 / NO I/O ADDRESSED. The manual's remedy is to readdress the existing I/O board from the service menu, with a password. This is different from code 21, where contact was lost with boards that had been addressed before. In code 23, the system has no addressed board at all, which happens on a new program unit, after a memory loss, or when the board's address was cleared. Because the fix is in the service menu, it is not an operator job, and the washer will not run until it is done.
