Wascomat Washer Error Code 58: Set Signal No Tacho
Code 58 means the DLCU saw the CPU's motor-should-run bit but no tacho pulses. If the tacho sensor and motor system are sound and the error returns after a reset, the manual says to change the CPU.
High: the motor is not answering its run command, and the washer stops.
What does Wascomat error code 58 mean?
The DLCU expects the motor to turn whenever the CPU says it should, and it confirms that by counting tacho pulses. When the run bit is on but no pulses arrive, it shows ERROR 058 / SET SIGNAL NO TACHO. The manual lists three causes: a break in the tacho sensor circuits, a failure of the tacho sensor magnet, and collateral damage from a motor system problem. Its remedy is conditional. If there is no problem in the tacho sensor or the motor system and the error returns after a reset, the CPU is changed. So the sensor and motor come first and the board comes last. This is the mirror of code 54: here the command exists and the motor does not answer, so the drum may not be turning, the sensor may not report it, or the motor system itself may have been damaged.
