Repairs this series usually needs
- Door and threshold damage from cart traffic
- Warm cabinet from long loading
- Door alarm
- Gasket wear
- Dirty condenser
The RI and RID are Beverage-Air roll-in refrigerators, built to take a full rack or cart through the door. Plate numbers include RI18HC, RI18HC-G and RI18HC-HG, five in total. The G and HG endings point to glass or half-glass doors.
A roll-in cabinet is a big box that is open for a long time at each loading, so warm air floods in. The gasket and the lower door edge take the cart hits. We check those first, then the condenser and the fans, which work hard to bring a loaded cabinet back to temperature.
If your carts catch the threshold, tell us. A small fix to the sill or the door saves the gasket. We replace the gasket along the lower edge when carts have torn it, since that strip is the first place a roll-in cabinet leaks.

The door stays open longer and the cabinet holds a large volume of air. It takes time to recover. A good gasket and a clean condenser shorten that time.
Does cart traffic damage the door?
Yes. Wheels and rack corners knock the bottom edge and the sill. We repair the door and replace the gasket where needed. We straighten bent door edges where we can and tell you plainly when a door needs replacing.
Is a glass-door roll-in different to repair?
It adds a door heater and glass seal to the checks. Otherwise the refrigeration work is the same. The seals and the heaters add to the checks.
