PowerFry5 is the VK line, available as single fryers VK45, VK65 and VK85 and as batteries such as 3VK65. It uses spark-to-ground ignition and a 120 V supply, with a Solid State or Computer control on top.
The ignition type matters on this fryer. If the building requires a GFI outlet, the maker specifies a particular part, because the ignition needs the right tolerance to spark. A low hum at the first start is normal in low fire, and the fryer goes to high fire after the melt cycle ends.

A low hum in low fire during the melt cycle is normal. It should go away once the fryer reaches high fire after the melt cycle ends.
My VK keeps tripping a GFI outlet. Why?
Spark-to-ground ignition needs the proper part and tolerance. We check the outlet and the ignition and recommend the right fix, using the part the maker specifies.
What does a VK lockout look like?
The alarm sounds after 90 seconds without a flame and the heat is disabled until the fryer is turned off and back on. Call us if it locks out again.
