The UCR is the Beverage-Air undercounter refrigerator, with 46 numbers such as UCR20HC, UCR27AHC and UCR119AHC. It tucks under a counter and breathes through the front grille. Because of that, lint and grease gather in the condenser quickly.
On an undercounter we begin with clearance and the grille, since boxed-in cabinets overheat. Then we check the gaskets, which see constant use on small doors, and the fans. The Danfoss control on many UCR cabinets shows dEF during defrost, Hi for a warm box and LEA when the compressor runs too long. We read those with you and test the box.
If the compressor starts and stops quickly, we check the start parts and the supply voltage. We also check that the unit sits level on its feet.

The compressor has run longer than the control allows. Doors left open or a dirty condenser are common reasons, and a refrigerant loss is the one we rule out last.
Why is my UCR in a hot corner losing temperature?
Heat that cannot leave the cabinet area raises condenser temperature. More clearance and a clean coil help. Keeping the front clear prevents most of these problems.
Does the front grille need to be clear?
Yes. The cabinet draws air through it. Boxes, mops or a wall too close choke the airflow. Boxes and mops stored against it are the usual culprits.
