The Four Blodgett Groups We Work On
Blodgett ovens fall into four groups, and we work on all of them. Convection ovens include the Mark V XCEL with the IQ2T computerized control, an older line still working in many restaurants. Combi ovens come in the BCM and BLCM manual-control versions and the BCT and BLCT touch-control versions, in electric and gas. Blodgett also makes deck ovens used for pizza and ovens used in bakeries, and we service those too.
Where We Start
On an IQ2T convection oven the display usually tells us where to begin. Hi, Prob, HEAT ERR, FAN ERR, FANC ERR and DOOR OPEN each point to a different circuit, from the temperature probe to the fan control to the door switch. If the oven simply does not heat, we confirm power, the power switch, the doors and the control before looking further. On a combi we look at the water supply, the steam generator and the door seal first.
Scale and Older Ovens
Where the water is hard, as in Houston, Los Angeles and San Diego, scale builds up in a combi oven’s steam generator over time. Flushing the boiler on schedule and treating the water saves the most money, and we tell you what we see inside before recommending parts. On older convection and deck ovens we are honest about repair versus replacement. You get a written price before work begins and a 30-day workmanship warranty afterward.
Blodgett codes and alarms
What the display or the blinking light means, what is safe to check, and when to stop and call us.
Blodgett lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
Which Blodgett ovens do you repair?
We repair Mark V XCEL convection ovens, BCM, BLCM, BCT and BLCT combi ovens, deck ovens used for pizza, and bakery ovens. Older units are welcome, and we say so plainly if a repair is not worth it.
What does HEAT ERR mean on my Blodgett oven?
On the IQ2T control it means the oven took too long to climb from a cool start. Press TOGGLE/CLEAR to clear the prompt, then call us so we can test the heating parts and the probe.
Why does my Blodgett combi oven make less steam?
Scale from hard water in the steam generator is a common reason, and a water supply that is not reaching the oven is another. We check both and confirm parts before returning.
Do you service Blodgett bakery and pizza ovens?
Yes. We service Blodgett deck ovens used for pizza and the ovens bakeries use. Call us or fill out the online form to schedule service.
