The S-model line includes SD, SY and SR cubers such as the SD0302A, SY0604A, SR1000A, SD1402A and SY1804A, plus the SDT3000 and SYT3000. A number ending in 3 marks a three-phase unit. A single light on the board flashes once, twice or three times to say which safety limit stopped the machine.
One flash means a long freeze, two flashes mean a long harvest, and three flashes mean the low refrigerant pressure control opened on a quad evaporator model. The machine restarts after the toggle is moved off and back to ice, but the cause stays until it is fixed.
We check water, scale, probes and airflow first, then the harvest valve and the refrigerant side. Older units get honest repair-or-replace advice.

Move the toggle switch to OFF and back to ICE, then watch the harvest light. One or two flashes identify the limit. Three flashes appear on quad evaporator models.
What is a quad evaporator?
It is a machine with four evaporator plates, used on the larger S-model cubers. They have an extra low pressure safety, which is why three flashes only occur there.
Is the S-model an older line?
It is both current and older, depending on the model. Many are in service for years. We repair them and tell you when the cost is not sensible.
