Repairs this series usually needs

  1. Long freeze and long harvest safety limits
  2. Condensing unit airflow and fan problems
  3. Line set and charge issues
  4. Scale on the plate and probe
  5. Three-strike shutdowns on boards with a black microprocessor

The Q-model QuietQube machines pair an ice head such as the QR0670C, QD0872C, QY1074C or QDUALC with a remote CVD condensing unit like the CVD0675 or CVD1475. The SU1024YC belongs to the same family. The heat is rejected at the condensing unit, so the kitchen stays cooler, but the outdoor unit has to stay clean and running.

The board flashes a harvest or safety limit light to show why it stopped. On Q boards with a black microprocessor, only three events in a row stop the machine, which is fewer than on other boards.

We check the condensing unit, water supply, scale and probes, then the charge and harvest valve. These are older machines, and we say plainly when a repair is not worth it.

FAQManitowoc Q-Model QuietQube Ice Machines questions
What is a QuietQube?

It is a Manitowoc design where the compressor sits in the remote condensing unit instead of in the ice head. That moves noise and heat out of the kitchen.

Why does my machine stop after three events?

On boards with a black microprocessor the limit is three consecutive events instead of the higher counts used on other boards. We check which board you have.

Is the condensing unit hard to service?

It is outdoors or on a roof, so access and weather matter a great deal. Tell us where it sits when you book and we plan the visit accordingly.
