Blakeslee Dish Machines and Mixers

Blakeslee dish machines and mixers often share a kitchen, and we repair current and older units. The dish machines include the UC-18 undercounter, the D-18, D-18D-3 and D-18V-3 hood and door types, the electric D-8B and DD-8B with a booster, and the G-3000 glasswasher. Conveyors include the RC-44-3, RC-62-3, RC-64-3 and RC-86-3 in HR and DR versions, and the QX-PRO flight machine. Mixers include the F-20, DD-40 and DD-60 floor planetary models and the B-20 bench mixers.

The digital D-18D and the RC conveyors report alarm codes on a display. Codes starting with B point to the boiler, E to the wash tank, M to the prewash tank, and Z to general alarms such as the emergency button. B1 and E1 are fill failures, B2 and E2 probe failures, B3 and E3 heating alarms, and E6 a tank that will not drain.

From Alarm to Repair

Many alarms have a simple owner step: open the water supply valve, check that the overflow pipe is seated or removed as the manual says, and turn the machine off and on once. If an alarm comes back, we test the fill valve, probes, heaters and pumps. Scale and damp dish rooms are hard on boiler probes and heaters, particularly in coastal Miami and Houston.

On a mixer we look at the bowl lift, gears, belt and motor overload. We say plainly when an older machine is not worth repairing, give a written price before work, and back our work with a 30-day warranty.

FAQBlakeslee questions
What does B1 mean on a Blakeslee D-18D?

B1 is a boiler filling failure. Open the water supply valve and check the overflow pipe. If the alarm returns, call us and we test the fill valve and the level circuit.

Why will my Blakeslee D-18D not drain, and what is E6?

E6 is a tank draining failure. Make sure the overflow pipe is taken off. If the tank still does not drain, call us and we test the drain valve and pump.

Why does my Blakeslee RC conveyor say OUTLET BLOCKAGE?

Racks have backed up at the exit and tripped the limit switch. Clear the baskets from the exit, then restart. If it trips with a clear exit, call us and we test the switch.

Do you repair Blakeslee planetary mixers?

Yes. We repair F-20, DD-40, DD-60 and B-20 mixers. Bowl lift and gear problems, belt slipping, motor overload trips and grease leaks from the gear case are the usual reasons for a call.
