We repair Hobart Legacy+ planetary mixers, N50 bench mixers, HSL and HSU spiral mixers and the HL662 pizza dough mixer in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego. Every Hobart mixer job starts with a price in writing.
Common Hobart mixers problems
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Mixer will not start, display dark
Operates only while start is held
ER code and mixer stays off
Stops under a heavy batch
Motor hums but does not turn
Timer counts down, beeps and resets
Hobart’s Legacy+ family covers the HL120 and HL200 bench mixers at 12 and 20 quarts, the HL300 and HL400 floor mixers with an ergonomic bowl lift, and the HL600, HL800 and HL1400 with an electric bowl lift and variable-frequency drive. The HL662 is a 60-quart pizza dough mixer, the N50 is a five-quart countertop mixer with mechanical controls, and the HSL and HSU machines are spiral dough mixers.
When an HL800 or HL1400 will not start, the display often tells us why. Codes such as OC1, OU1, LU, OH1 and Lin point to over-current, high voltage, low voltage, a hot heat sink or a lost input phase. The code stays until power is cycled and the cause is corrected, so we check the supply voltage, the bottom cover vent and heat-sink fins, and how large the batch was.
On any Legacy+ model, a mixer that starts only while you hold the button, or will not start at all, usually points to the bowl guard switch or the bowl-in switch. A dark display sends us to the incoming voltage, the timer board and its harness. We price the repair in writing first and stand behind it with a 30-day warranty on our work.

It means the drive heat sink got too hot. In a warm kitchen the bottom vent and heat-sink fins can clog with flour dust. We clean and check them, then test the drive before we quote any further repair.
Why does my Hobart mixer only work while I hold the start button?
That usually points to the bowl guard switch or the bowl-in switch not making properly. We test both and the wiring, and tell you the written price before we replace a switch.
Do you repair the Hobart HL662 pizza dough mixer?
Yes. We service the HL662 along with the other Legacy+ models and the HSL and HSU spiral mixers. Give us the model name and we confirm parts before we arrive.
