Rational Combi Oven Repair
Kitchens in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego call us for Rational combi ovens, from older SelfCookingCenter and CombiMaster units to the current iCombi Pro. Call us or fill out the online form to schedule service.
Common Rational problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Service number shows on the display
Steam is weak or missing
Cleaning cycle stops partway
Gas oven will not ignite
Oven warns about overheating electronics
Core probe is not reading
Rational Generations We Repair
Our Rational work runs from the older SelfCookingCenter units to the current iCombi Pro and iCombi Classic. The SelfCookingCenter came in table-top sizes 61, 62, 101 and 102 and floor-standing sizes 201 and 202, and the whitefficiency version still works in many restaurant kitchens. We also see the older CombiMaster Plus and ClimaPlus Combi ovens, in electric and gas.
Service Numbers, Steam and Scale
A Service number on the display is our starting point. Many can be dismissed with the back button while the oven keeps cooking, so we ask what the oven was doing when the number appeared. Weak steam sends us to the water supply, the scale level in the steam generator and the level electrode. Scale builds fast where the water is hard, as in Houston, Los Angeles and San Diego, and an oven that is not descaled on schedule starts to show steam and cleaning messages. A CleanJet cycle that stops partway points us to the rinse step.
If you smell gas, step outside and call the gas utility right away. On gas ovens, a GAS RESET or a Service 32 or 33 message means the burner did not ignite. After the cause is fixed, the ignition controller has to be reset, because restarting the oven alone does not clear the lockout.
Filters, Older Units and Parts
Heat and grease in a busy kitchen load up the air filter under the control panel, and a clogged one lets the electronics run hot. We tell you plainly when an older oven is not worth another repair. You get the price in writing before any work, and every repair carries our 30-day workmanship warranty. We confirm the parts, such as the right ignition controller for your control generation, before the visit.
Rational codes and alarms
What the display or the blinking light means, what is safe to check, and when to stop and call us.
Rational lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
SCC 61SCC 62SCC 101SCC 102SCC 201SCC 202SCC 6 2/3 (XS)→Can my Rational keep cooking when a Service number appears?
Often yes. Many Service messages can be dismissed with the back button and the oven keeps working. Write down the number and tell us when you call, so we can bring the right parts and judge how urgent the visit is.
Do you repair the older SelfCookingCenter and CombiMaster ovens?
Yes. They are older lines still in service in many kitchens. We repair them, and we say plainly when the cost of a repair is higher than it makes sense for the age of the oven.
Why does my gas Rational not light after I restart it?
After a failed ignition, the ignition controller has to be reset once the cause is fixed. Restarting the oven alone does not clear it. If you smell gas, leave the building and call the gas utility from outside.
