Henny Penny Models We Handle
Henny Penny is best known for pressure fryers, and we service every generation. The current Velocity PFE 500, PFE 561 and PFG 600 four-head and six-head fryers sit alongside eight-head High Volume machines such as the PFE 591 and PFG 691. For open fryers we repair Evolution Elite EEE and EEG units, the 320 and 340 series OFE and OFG fryers, and older OG, OE and LVE open fryers. Legacy pressure fryers from the 561, 580, 590, 600 and 690 era are still out there too.
What the E-Codes Tell Us
These fryers report a lot through E-codes, so we start at the display. E-10 is a high-limit trip, often after overheating or after the drain was opened while the fryer was heating. E-15 points to the drain-open switch. The E-6 family means a probe problem. On electric models E-25, E-26 and E-27 are heat-amp errors, and on gas models with electronic ignition the E-20 family is an ignition failure. E-16 sends us to inlet gas pressure, which should be at least 7 inches of water column on natural gas and 11 on propane.
A pressure fryer that will not build pressure most often has a worn lid gasket, while filtration trouble comes from the pump and its parts. Grease buildup and humid air, especially near the coast in Miami and Houston, wear seals and connectors faster. Before the visit we confirm the model and control, such as Computron 8000 or iControl. If an old fryer is not worth the money we say so, and you get a written price first and a 30-day warranty on our work.

Can you repair older Henny Penny pressure fryers?

My Henny Penny gas fryer will not ignite. What should I check?
If you smell gas, everyone leaves the kitchen and the gas utility gets the call from outside. With no odor, make sure the gas valve is open and the fryer is plugged in, then call us and we will test the ignition system and inlet gas pressure.
