We repair Manitowoc ice machines in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego, from Indigo NXT touchscreen units back to S-model, Q-model QuietQube and undercounter machines still in service. We begin with the alert log or safety-limit lights, then test water, probes and condenser airflow.

Manitowoc Generations We Repair

Our Manitowoc work spans several generations. Current Indigo NXT machines have a touch display with an alert log and a service menu. The earlier Indigo series, including the R290 I0320A and I0500A, keeps an event log from E01 to E34 on a four-line display. S-models flash a harvest and safety-limit light one, two or three times, Q-model QuietQube heads pair with CVD condensing units, and the UD, UY and UR undercounters use SL#1 and SL#2 lights. The second letter of a model number tells us whether it makes dice, half-dice or regular cubes.

Manitowoc sets the air range for self-contained machines at 35 to 110 degrees F. A hot kitchen or a back-of-house closet can reach the top of that range in summer, and a dirty condenser or crowded clearance makes a long freeze cycle worse. Scale on the water level and ice thickness probes is the other steady cause of trouble, especially in hard-water areas such as Houston, Los Angeles and San Diego.

First Checks and Straight Advice

We read the alert log, event log or light pattern first, then check the water supply, the dump valve, the water curtain and bin switch, probe cleanliness and condenser airflow. Indigo NXT machines can keep making ice for a while in safe operation mode when a probe sensor fails, so a working machine is not always a healthy one.

Older Q-model and early Indigo machines can still be worth repairing if the evaporator is in good shape. When they are not, we tell you before you spend the money. Nothing starts until you have a written price, and our workmanship is warranted for 30 days.

FAQManitowoc questions
Can you read the Indigo event log and tell me what happened?

Yes. On Indigo machines the event log lists entries from E01 to E34, such as a long freeze cycle or a long harvest cycle. We read it, check the matching circuit, and explain what we find in plain terms.

My Manitowoc stopped and restarts after power is cycled. Is it fixed?

Not necessarily. Many Manitowoc machines stop on a safety limit and will restart after a power cycle, but the cause is still there. Scale, a weak water supply or a hot condenser often brings the stop back.

Do you repair older S-model and Q-model machines?

Yes. We service S-models, Q-model QuietQube machines with CVD condensing units, and early Indigo units. We check the model number first and tell you plainly if the repair is not worth the cost.
