Merrychef Models and Data Plates
Merrychef speed ovens combine microwave energy, convection and radiant heat. We work on the current eikon e1s, e4s and e5 and the conneX 12 and 16, and on older eikon e2s, e3 and e6 ovens that many kitchens still use. The e4s, for example, runs on 208/240 volts at 30 amps with a NEMA 6-30P plug. Its data plate carries a full model string, such as e4SSTMV6DFU1GMUS, and we use that string to match parts.
Reading E Codes
An E1xx code on the screen tells us where to look. The first step is to note the code, clean the oven and the air filter, refit the filter and power the oven off and on. The oven will not run without its air filter, so a missing or clogged filter is the first thing we check on a no-start. E103 and E104 overheating messages point to a clogged filter, a hot kitchen or a fryer or griddle sending hot air into the lower front intake, so the temperature around the oven matters.
A blank screen often means the isolator is off or power is missing. Voltage and frequency messages, such as E088 and E105, send us to the supply. Messages about the magnetron or heaters need a technician, because the cavity carries microwave energy and high voltage.
Older Ovens
We say plainly when an older eikon is not worth another repair. You get the price in writing first, and the work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Clean the air filter, refit it and power the oven off and on. If the message returns, check for heat from nearby equipment and call us. We test the airflow and the temperature sensing.
Why will my Merrychef not start?
The oven will not run without its air filter, and an open door also stops it. Check both first. If neither is the cause, check the isolator and then call us.
Do you repair the older eikon e2s and e6?
Yes. They are older lines still in service in some kitchens. We repair them when parts allow and tell you plainly if a repair is not worth the cost.
