Dexter Washers and Dryers We Repair
Dexter washers are T-series front-loaders running from the T-300 up to the T-950, plus the T-1200 and T-1450, in the 20 to 90 pound range. They are hardmount coin and card machines with a main board and a variable-frequency drive, and the newer ones use DexterLive. We also repair the T-450 stacked washer-dryer and the gas coin dryers T-30, T-50, T-80 and T-120, including the stacked T-20×2, T-30×2 and T-50×2.
Lint, Scale and Display Codes
Laundromats are warm and often humid, and lint and scale do most of the damage. A washer that shows F2 or fills slowly sends us to the inlet screens and valves. F1 means the door will not lock, so we check the door lock and switch, and F8 points to the drain. F13 through F19 point to the drive and motor.
A dryer with no flame goes through the ignition control, air flow switch, spark electrode and temperature probe. If the burner lights and shuts off, we check the ignition harness and gas valve. Slow drying starts at the lint screens and makeup air. A display that reverts to its defaults sends us to the transformer taps and supply voltage.
We quote in writing before we start. When an older machine is not worth fixing, we say so. Our work has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Dexter codes and alarms
What the display or the blinking light means, what is safe to check, and when to stop and call us.
Dexter lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
What does F1 mean on my Dexter washer?
F1 is a door lock code. Make sure nothing is caught in the door and close it firmly. If the code returns, we test the door lock, the switch and the wiring.
Should I power my Dexter washer down after an error?
Look at the drive light before you cut power. Once the washer is off, leave it off for one full minute, or it may not operate properly when it restarts.
Why does my coin dryer count down 3, 2, 1 and stop?
The emergency stop button may be pressed or stuck. Release it and try again. If the dryer still stops, we check the button, its wiring and the control so it runs its full time.
Do you repair Dexter dryers that will not light?
Yes. We check the ignition control, air flow switch, spark electrode and temperature probe. If you smell gas, leave the building and call the gas utility from outside.
