Common Hobart dish machines problems
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
LOW RINSE TEMP message
FILL ERROR or DRAIN ERROR stops the machine
WASH ARM ALERT on the screen
E2 no or slow fill
Slow leak message Ed
Lime buildup on booster and rinse arms
The LXe Advansys undercounter comes in four versions. The LXeC and LXePR are low-temperature chemical machines, the LXeH is high temperature with a built-in 70 degree rise booster and needs at least 110 degrees F incoming water, and the LXeR has internal energy recovery and takes 55 to 80 degree water. The AM15 family, with the F, T and VL versions, is a door-type undercounter that converts between high-temperature and chemical sanitizing, and the VL models are ventless. The AM16 series continues that line.
LXe machines show plain messages. LOW RINSE TEMP appears on the third low cycle in a row and adds Check Water Input after ten, while the machine keeps cycling. FILL ERROR, DRAIN ERROR and the sump or booster level sensor messages stop the machine so it can only be powered down. A WASH ARM ALERT asks you to remove and clean the arm. On the AM15, E2 means the water did not reach the float within two and a half minutes: check the hot water supply valve, clean the line strainer and check the standpipe. Ed is a slow leak from a drain lever not closed or a fouled standpipe O-ring.
Water dribbling from the lower rinse arm is normal expansion on a booster. Constant flow means a leaking fill valve. We also repair older C-Line and Ecomax machines.

It appears when three low-temperature cycles happen in a row, and the machine keeps cycling. After ten cycles it adds Check Water Input. Make sure the hot water reaches the machine, then call us.
Why does my Hobart AM15 show E2?
E2 means the machine did not fill in time. Check that the hot water supply valve is open, clean the line strainer, and make sure the standpipe and O-ring are seated. If E2 returns, call us.
Why is water dripping from the lower rinse arm on my Hobart?
A small dribble is normal expansion on machines with a booster. If the water flows constantly, a fill valve is leaking and needs repair, so call us and we test the valve.
