Which mixers do you have?
Pick the maker on the data plate: each page lists its problems, codes and model series. Not on the list? Call us; we repair other makers too.
Common mixers problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Mixer slowing under heavy dough
Grinding or knocking from the gear case
Grease leaking around the agitator shaft
Bowl will not lock or lift
Machine stops and will not restart
Timer or speed control not responding
Commercial mixers range from countertop planetary models to floor-standing planetary and spiral machines that work dough in bakeries and pizzerias. They use a motor, a belt or gear drive, a gear case with lubricant, a bowl lift or lock and safety guards. Restaurants, bakeries, schools and churches depend on them for prep.
What shortens their life
Flour dust, grease and heat wear out seals and bearings, and humid air can corrode switches and guards. Heavy dough strains belts and gears, and a mixer that has worked hard for years may be running on thin or contaminated lubricant. A power event can also stress the motor and the control.
We check the power, the safety interlocks, the drive belt or gear train, the bearings, the bowl lift and the speed control. We listen for noise under load and look for lubricant at the shaft, since a leak or a rough gear shows where wear is starting.
Repair or replace, and what to have ready
If the frame, bowl and gear case are sound, a repair usually makes sense. If the gears are badly worn or parts are hard to find, we explain the choice plainly. Have the model label ready, along with what the mixer does under load.
Please do not remove guards, bypass an interlock or open the gear case yourself.
Mixers codes by maker
The same characters mean different things on different makers and controls, so pick yours first.

A worn belt, a tired motor, a worn start part or thin gear lubricant can all slow a mixer. A slowdown alone does not tell us which, so we test the drive and listen to the gears before recommending a repair.
Is a grease leak at the shaft serious?
It can be. Grease at the agitator shaft means a seal has worn, and leaking grease can reach the food zone. Stop using the mixer, follow your food-safety plan, and call us before the gear case runs short of grease.
Can you fix a mixer that is decades old?
Often. Many heavy mixers outlast their warranty by many years. We inspect the gears, bearings and motor, give you a written price, and say honestly if a repair no longer makes sense.
