Commercial Freezer Repair in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego
A freezer that softens product or buries itself in frost needs attention fast. We trace the cause on site, quote the repair in writing, and work on older units other shops turn away.
Which reach-in freezers do you have?
Pick the maker on the data plate: each page lists its problems, codes and model series. Not on the list? Call us; we repair other makers too.

In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.

Thick frost over the evaporator cover
Defrost water freezing in the drain
Compressor humming or short-cycling
Door will not close flush
Alarm or display flashing
What counts as a commercial freezer
This covers upright and chest freezers, solid or glass door, and reach-in units in restaurants, bakeries, shops and institutional kitchens. Some have their own compressor; others connect to a remote condensing unit on a roof or in a back room.
Freezers show trouble in a familiar order. Frost thickens first, product softens at the edges of the box, and then the compressor runs longer while the cabinet never quite reaches its normal feel. Humid coastal air in Miami and Houston speeds this up, since every door opening brings in moisture that freezes on the coil.
The first things we test
We look at the door gaskets and the heater wires around the frame, the defrost heater, termination switch and timer or controller, the drain line, and the evaporator and condenser fans. A frozen drain or a failed defrost part explains many ice problems, so the sealed system comes last.
An older freezer is worth repairing when the box is dry and straight. If the foam is wet or the body is corroded, we say so before you spend money. Please do not pour hot water on a frozen coil or use a screwdriver to free ice, since the tubing sits just under the surface.

Heavy ice usually means moist air is getting in through a bad gasket or an open door, or the defrost system is not clearing the coil. We find out which. Chipping the ice away does not fix the cause and can damage the coil.
Is an older reach-in freezer worth fixing?
If the cabinet is solid and the insulation is dry, repair usually costs far less than replacement. We check the sealed system and the defrost parts, tell you what we find, and give you a written price before we start.
What helps most when I call?
