Pick yours: each page lists the problems, codes and model series for that kind of True equipment.
Common True problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Cabinet warm with a high temperature alarm
Probe error codes such as P1 or P2
Ice building up on the evaporator coil
Freezer not defrosting or draining
Door alarm sounding with the door closed
Compressor starting and stopping after a power loss
True Cabinets and Series We Repair
Our True calls come from a handful of families: T-Series and TS reach-ins, TSD sliding-door cabinets, TUC undercounters, TWT worktops, TSSU and TPP prep tables, GDM glass door merchandisers, and TBB and TBR back bar coolers. We also see the Spec Series STR, STA and STG cabinets. Older True cabinets share the same model numbers without the -HC ending, and we repair them too.
Newer True cabinets run on hydrocarbon refrigerant, so opening the sealed system is technician work. Controls change with the build year. For that reason we read the model and serial label first and match the control before ordering any part.
Heat, Grease and Frost
A condenser coil clogged with grease and lint is the most common reason a loaded True cabinet goes into a high temperature alarm, and a packed coil makes the compressor work until it wears out early. In Miami and Houston, humid air adds to the load: a leaking gasket or a drifting defrost probe lets frost build on the evaporator. In Los Angeles and San Diego, dry heat in a back kitchen pushes the same coil hard. After a power outage, a compressor that starts and stops over and over should be checked before food goes back inside.
We start at the condenser, door gaskets and door switches, then test the probes against the resistance chart. If an older cabinet is no longer worth fixing, we tell you so. The price is written down before work, and our repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Yes. Older True cabinets use the same model numbers without -HC, and we still repair them. If a cabinet is too far gone, we say so before you spend money on parts.
What does a P1 or P2 code on a True cabinet mean?
On True controls P1 is the air probe and P2 is the coil probe. We test probe resistance before replacing anything, because a loose connection can show the same code.
Why does my True freezer keep icing up?
Heavy frost usually comes from a defrost heater, a defrost probe or a door gasket that lets humid air in. We check all three and make sure melted water can leave the cabinet.
What should I do before calling about a warm True cabinet?
Close the doors, clear the space in front of the condenser, and move perishable food to another cooler. Then call us with the model number from the serial label.
